In June 2025, the UK’s leading arable farming show — the Cereals Event — returned to a hugely popular Lincolnshire venue, Heath Farm in Leadenham, hosted by Andrew Ward MBE.
Held over two days on 11–12 June, this year’s event brought together over 400 exhibitors, 200+ live demonstrations, hundreds of crop plots, and two full days of expert seminar programmes, drawing thousands of visitors from across the agricultural sector.
R & J PA Hire was proud to be on-site providing a complete event communication and sound solution to support this massive outdoor showcase for the arable industry.
📢 Clear Communication Across 52 Hectares
With a showground spanning more than 52 hectares, effective communication was critical. Our team supplied and installed a professional outdoor PA system designed to deliver clear and reliable announcements right across the site.
We strategically positioned multiple high-powered speakers to ensure consistent coverage throughout the demo plots, trade stands, seminar areas, and visitor walkways. The system allowed organisers to make safety announcements, introduce speakers, and keep visitors updated on timings, traffic management, and live demonstrations.
At an event of this size, clarity and coverage aren’t just about sound quality — they’re about keeping the show running safely and on time.
🏠 Commentary Unit for Central Control
At the heart of our setup was one of our mobile commentary units — a fully equipped control hub positioned to oversee the main arena and demonstration zones.
This unit provided organisers with:
- A weatherproof and elevated base of operations
- Built-in power distribution and audio patching
- Direct line-of-sight to key event areas
- Space for commentary staff, announcers, and safety teams
Operating from the commentary unit, we were able to coordinate announcements, manage the audio feed, and ensure smooth delivery of the schedule throughout both days of the event.
📡 Two-Way Radios for Seamless Team Coordination
To keep such a large event running smoothly, the Cereals Event team also relied on our two-way radios. We supplied fully programmed and licensed radios for use by:
- Event organisers and safety officers
- Traffic and parking marshals
- Demonstration teams
- On-site security and first aid
This private radio network allowed instant communication across the showground — critical for managing large crowds, vehicle movements, and live demonstration schedules.
With everyone connected at the push of a button, the event team could react quickly and efficiently to any situation, ensuring a safe and professional visitor experience.
