What a fantastic weekend at the first Winestead Heritage Weekend, held on Saturday 10 and Sunday 11 October 2026!

R & J PA Hire was delighted to be part of this new event in East Yorkshire, bringing together classic vehicles, heritage enthusiasts, traders and visitors in support of East End Cancer Relief.

After looking forward to the show for several months, it was a pleasure to be on site throughout both days, supplying sound and communications equipment and providing live commentary.

Commentary Units, Outdoor PA and Two-Way Radios

Every outdoor event has its own sound and communication needs, and we were pleased to support the organisers with equipment for the weekend.

Our services included:

• Commentary units.
• Outdoor PA equipment for commentary and announcements.
• An emergency PA system covering the car park and trading field.
• Two-way radios for communication across the event site.
• Richard as commentator throughout Saturday and Sunday.

From keeping visitors informed to helping the organisers stay in touch, it was a pleasure to play our part in the running of the first Winestead Heritage Weekend.

A Weekend of Classic Vehicles and Heritage

One of the highlights was seeing the classic vehicles brought along by their proud owners.

Events like this give enthusiasts the opportunity to share their vehicles, swap stories and introduce visitors to the machinery and motoring heritage they work hard to preserve.

A big thank you to all the owners who supported the weekend by bringing their vehicles along. Your time, effort and enthusiasm helped make the event special.

Live Commentary Throughout the Weekend

Alongside supplying the equipment, Richard had the pleasure of being the commentator for both days.

Providing live commentary is always an enjoyable part of our work. It offers the chance to engage with visitors, share information about the exhibits and help everyone follow what is happening around the show.

Being involved in the first Winestead Heritage Weekend made this occasion particularly memorable.

A huge thank you to all the organisers for putting together such a great weekend.

Launching a new event takes a great deal of preparation and hard work. We appreciated the opportunity to work alongside the team and support their efforts throughout Saturday and Sunday.

Thank you also to the volunteers, exhibitors, traders and visitors who helped bring the weekend to life. It was lovely to see people coming together to enjoy the event and support East End Cancer Relief.

A Big Shout-Out to Mam! Ah’m ’ere

We couldn’t let the weekend pass without a special mention for Mam! Ah’m ’ere Pizza.

Thank you for keeping Richard fuelled throughout both days with hot drinks, delicious Cumberland sausages in fresh bread and, of course, fantastic pizzas.

Very welcome refreshments during a busy weekend of commentary!

It was a pleasure to be part of the first event, and these photographs provide a lovely reminder of a great two days.

With heritage displays, horseback performances, fairground attractions, food, shopping and entertainment, the weekend is shaping up to be an excellent community occasion.

• Speakers positioned around the main-ring area

Clear announcements and commentary will help visitors follow the programme, learn more about the exhibits and enjoy performances from attractions including The Yorkshire Knights.

The two-way radios will also give the organisers and event team reliable communication across the site, helping everyone coordinate activities and respond quickly when required.

As a family-run East Yorkshire business, we are particularly pleased to support this revived local event that is bringing the community together and raising money for charity.

Supporting East End Cancer Relief

The Heritage Weekend is being organised in support of East End Cancer Relief, and a great deal of time and effort is going into planning the occasion.

Charity events rely heavily on the dedication of organisers, volunteers, exhibitors, performers, sponsors, traders and members of the public. Everyone attending or supporting the weekend will be helping the charity continue its valuable work.

Plans are still developing, so additional displays, stalls and attractions may be announced as the event approaches.

Every visitor to the Winestead Heritage Weekend 2026 will be helping to support this important local charity.
