We’re delighted to announce that R & J PA Hire has been booked for the new Sutton Park Steam and Vintage Rally, taking place on Saturday 21 and Sunday 22 August 2027.

It’s always exciting to welcome a new event to our diary, and we’re looking forward to working with the organisers as they bring this weekend of steam and vintage heritage to North Yorkshire.

With preparations under way, we’re pleased to share the dates and introduce an event that steam enthusiasts, classic vehicle owners and families can look forward to next summer.

Our featured photograph shows a steam engine in the main ring at Winestead Heritage Weekend 2026, a recent event supported by R & J PA Hire.

A New Steam and Vintage Rally for 2027

The rally will take place at Sutton Park, Sutton-on-the-Forest, near York, North Yorkshire, YO61 1DP.

The organisers are planning a weekend featuring steam engines, vintage cars, classic tractors and heavy horses, bringing together a range of exhibits celebrating transport, machinery and rural heritage.

For enthusiasts, it will be an opportunity to enjoy the vehicles and engineering that make steam and vintage rallies so memorable. For families and visitors discovering these events for the first time, there will be the chance to see historic machinery up close and experience the atmosphere of a traditional rally.

Celebrating Steam and Vintage Heritage

There is something special about seeing a steam engine in action. The sound, movement and care involved in operating these machines help bring their history to life.

Vintage vehicles and classic tractors also offer a connection to the past, reminding visitors how people travelled, worked the land and transported goods in earlier generations.

Behind these exhibits are dedicated owners and enthusiasts who spend considerable time maintaining and restoring them. Rallies provide an opportunity to share that work with the public and pass their enthusiasm on to another generation.

We’re looking forward to seeing the event develop as exhibitors and visitors prepare for its first year.

R & J PA Hire Joining the Weekend

We’re pleased to have our booking confirmed and look forward to being part of the first Sutton Park Steam and Vintage Rally.

Supporting outdoor events is a familiar part of our work. From heritage weekends and steam rallies to agricultural shows and community gatherings, we understand the importance of clear sound and reliable communication across an event site.

Each venue has its own requirements, depending on the layout, programme and areas that need coverage. Working with organisers to understand those needs is an important part of preparing for a successful weekend.

A big thank you to the Sutton Park team for choosing R & J PA Hire. We’ll share more about our involvement as preparations progress.

Looking Ahead After Winestead Heritage Weekend

This booking follows our involvement in Winestead Heritage Weekend in October 2026, where we supplied commentary units, an emergency PA system for the car park and trading field, and two-way radios. Richard also provided live commentary throughout both days.

It was a pleasure to work alongside the organisers and see the classic vehicles brought along by their owners.

You can read more about that weekend in our Winestead Heritage Weekend 2026 blog.

Save the Dates: 21–22 August 2027

If you enjoy steam engines, classic vehicles and traditional machinery, keep Saturday 21 and Sunday 22 August 2027 free in your diary.

Whether you are hoping to attend as a visitor, bring an exhibit or find out more about getting involved, the organisers’ website is the place to check for the latest information.

Visit the official Sutton Park Steam and Vintage Rally website for event updates, visitor information and exhibitor details as the weekend approaches.
